Wendy Mutusek

Wendy believes thoughtful care and heart-centered horsemanship aren’t just ideals — they’re everyday practice. She grew up in Wisconsin, surrounded by wide-open spaces and animals that taught her patience, presence, and deep respect for the land.

Her introduction to horsemanship began at a young age when her parents and friends would take the children tent camping among a herd of 20 horses living freely on 80 acres with a river running through it. She quite literally grew up among the herd — riding bareback with nothing more than a string around the nose for reins, learning from the horses themselves through feel, trust, and quiet observation.

At age twelve, Wendy received her first horse — an Appaloosa named Rusty — solidifying a lifelong bond with horses. Blessed to continue that journey, she has since cared for and loved two horses of her own.

Wendy’s approach is gentle and grounded in relationship. She leads with an “ask,” never force, honoring the horse as a partner rather than a tool. Her favorite pastime is simply sitting in the pasture among them — present, listening, and embracing the peace of the natural element. She takes the time to know each horse as an individual, attentively observing their personalities and staying watchful for even the smallest sign that something may be off.

For Wendy, caretaking is not just responsibility — it is stewardship, connection, and quiet devotion.
